The Penn State Beaver Women's Volleyball team started their season Friday/Saturday, hosting the PSU Beaver / USCAA Tip Off. Beaver hosted Penn State DuBois, Fayette, Greater Allegheny, and Bay Path for the event. After suffering a 3-2 loss to DuBois in the opening day, Beaver was ready to get back on track on Saturday against Fayette and Bay Path.
In the first match of the day, Fayette downed Beaver 3-1. Fayette took the first set 25-20. Beaver took set tow 25-18. Fayette won three and four 25-18 and 25-16 respectively. In the loss. Freshmen Arely Valdez and Kiana Stamper led Beaver with 5 kills a piece in the loss.
In the second match, Beaver fell to Bay Path 3-2. Bay Path took set one 25-14. Beaver took set two 25-21. Bay Path took set three 25-16. Beaver set four 25-19. Bay Path took an exciting set five 15-12. Beaver was led in kills by Senior Maria Slater with 5.
With the losses, Beaver falls to 0-3 overall. The ladies will return to action on Wednesday, September 8th when they travel to Carlow University for a 7 p.m. match.
