Week 25 Athlete of the Week - Justin Lambert
This week's Penn State Beaver Athlete of the Week is Second-Year, Baseball player, Justin Lambert. This week Lambert played in 4 games kicking off PSUAC play. Kicking off PSAUc, Lambert played in all 4 games against Penn State New Kensington, starting off on the road and ending the series at home. Lambert had 5 hits this week, with 4 RBI's, 1 double, 1 triple, and from behind the plate had 10 putouts. Lambert also scored 1 of Beaver's runs on Saturday during game 1. The team is off to a slow start this season and in PSUAC play but they still have time to make a difference in the conference after this first week. Their next game will be on Wednesday, April 2nd at 3pm when they take on Point Park (JV) in non-conference game., this game will be 9 innings unlike their double header match-ups of 7 innings. Week 24 Athlete of the Week - Kierstyn Mays
This week's Penn State Beaver Athlete of the Week is Second-Year, Softball player, Kierstyn Mays. This week Mays played in 6 games during the first week back up North after their Spring Training Trip. Playing all 6 games at home, Beaver took on St, Vincent College, USCAA Competitor, Carlow University, and Penn Highlands CC. The team went 2-4 on the week, taking both wins against Penn Highlands CC, scores of 10-1 in both games. Mays had 9 hits, with 11 RBI's, scored 5 runs, had 2 walks, 3 homeruns, and 2 doubles. Mays also put up some numbers in the circle, pitching 15.1 innings, giving up 12 hits, 5 earned runs, had 4 strike outs, was part of 16 putouts in 6 games. Mays pitched 1 complete game against Penn Highlands CC. The team is now 4-8 this season with no conference record to show yet. Their next game will be on Saturday, March 29th at 1pm when they take on La Roche University in another non-conference game. Week 23 Athlete of the Week - Cassidy Crean
This week's Penn State Beaver Athlete of the Week is Second-Year, Softball player, Cassidy Crean. This week Crean played in 6 games during the teams annual Spring Training Trip.These games were played at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The team played 6 non-conference opponents and came home with 2 wins. Winning against the University of Minnesota Morris and Cairn University. Crean had 7 hits, with 2 RBI's, scored 5 runs, had a .333 batting average and 9 putouts from Center Field. The team is now 2-4 this season with no conference record to show yet. Their next game will be on Wednesday, March 19th at 3pm when they take on St. Vincent College in their first home game of the season.
