DuBois, PA - The Lady Lions traveled to Penn State DuBois to continue their conference play. Dropping 2 hard fought match-up the Lions now sit at 5-2 in the PSUAC. The first game ened in the 7th with a score of 5-4 and the second went into extra innings, finishing after 9 with a score of 4-3.
In the first game, Junior Desiree Aponte took the mound. She pitched 7.0 innings, gave up 5 runs with 4 being earned and struck out 4 batters. Junior, Chloe Coleman went 3 for 4 with 3 doubles, scored 1 run, and hit 2 RBI's. Junior Cassadie Speed also drove in an RBI for Beaver in the first game. Junior, Chloe Coleman, Sophomore, Kylie Magnotta, and Freshman, Elena Denezza all had a stolen base in this game as well.
For the second game, Freshman, Kiana Stamper was the starter on the mound. Stamper made it 5.1 innings when Freshman, Gabbey Flynt took over for her finishing the last 2.2 innings. Freshman, Maria Matts went 2 for 4. Senior, Skylar Duffee and Freshman, Kelsey Stoner, hit both RBI's in for the second game. Coleman and Duffee both hit a double in game 2, while Junior, Desiree Aponte hit a triple.
These two hard fought match-ups leaves Beaver with an overall record of 7-7 and making them 5-2 in conference. Beaver will continue to play conference match-up through the weekend in hopes of making up the deficit from these games.
Beaver's next game will be on Wednesday, April 6th at 2pm and 4pm in a double header match-up against Penn State Mont Alto from their pervious rained out game. Make sure to show your support either in person or tune in to watch it all live on the Rise and Roar Network!
