DuBois Sweeps Beaver

DuBois Sweeps Beaver

Penn State DuBois softball would host a double header last night as they hosted PSUAC opponent PSU Beaver.  Lizzy Scott started from the mound for DuBois, and didn't disappoint.  Although Beaver would score the first run of the game in the 3rd inning, DuBois would come back in the 4th with 4 runs of their own.

Cayleigh Huffman would knock in 2 of those runs while Kelsey Stuart and Jordan Bundy would cause the other 2 runs to score.  Beaver would tack on 3 more runs in the 5th inning to tie the game, 4-4.  The game would remain tied until the bottom of the 7th inning when Skylar Ceprish would drive in the winning run with a walk off single to win the game, 5-4.

Ceprish would go 4-4 on the day with 3 doubles.  Scott would end the complete game with a win and 8 strikeouts.

Game 2 would see much of the same exciting action.  Shyanne Lundy would crush a home run over the center field wall for 1 of her 2 RBI's on the day.  Kelsey Stuart would start the game pitching for DuBois, but would also get some help in relief from both Brianna Bone and Scott.

At the end of the 7th inning the score would remain tied in this one, and the game would continue on into extra innings.  Finally, in the bottom of the 9th inning Lundy would get her 2nd RBI of the day as she would drive in the winning run to help lift her team to the series sweep.

Scott would earn the win from the mound, and Ceprish would hit for a triple to add to her day.  Both Paige Pleta and Abby Pentz would hit for doubles as DuBois improves to 5-3 in PSUAC play.
