Virginia Beach, Va- On Sunday, the Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer team played their last game of the Fall 2021 season. After falling to Five Towns on Friday, and Five Towns defeating Central Maine CC on Satruday, Five Towns secured the Pool A spot in Monday's Division II National Title game. This meant Beaver and Central Maine were playing for Pride and the chance to end the season on a posative note.
Beaver struck first. At the three minute mark, Junior Misa Garcia stole the ball in the box and put it in for an unassisted goal to give Beaver a quick 1-0 lead. That score stood, until with 8 seconds left in the half Central Maine chipped one past Goalie Adrian Garcia to make it 1-1 going into half time. The second half belonged to Beaver. At the 52 minute mark, Garcia scored a second unassisted goal. At the 57 minute mark, Jake Ross snuck a pentaly kick past the keeper to make it 3-1. In the next ten minutes, Ethan Paxton and Jared Perusich both scored unassisted goals to push lead to 5-1. And finally, at the 80 minute mark, Frederick Ridel scored off a pass from Tanner Golleti to make it 6-1, which rounded up the scoring.
With the win, Beaver finishes pool play 1-1. They also finish the Fall 2021 campaign 13-7 and a USCAA tournament participanrt==
