New Kensington, PA- It took the Lady Lions a few tries, but better late than never! The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions defeated Penn State New Kensington 3-0 to earn their first victory of the 2021 season. The victory did not come as easy as the 3-0 score would indicate; each set was highly contested. Beaver took the sets 26-24, 25-20, and 25-20.
Senior Maria Slater led the Lady lions in kills with 9. Junior Bre King added 8 kills and a team high 13 assists. Senior Heaven Bowman recorded 18 digs.
With the win, Beaver now sits at 1-6 overall, and 1-1 in the PSUAC. Beaver will try to ride this high into this weekends quad match. Beaver will take on PSUAC foes Mont Alto and Greater Allegheny at 11Am and 3PM respectively. They will finish the day taking on USCAA foe UC Clermont at 5 p.m. If you cannot make it to the Beaver fieldhouse, all games will be streamed live on the Rise and Roar Network.
