Monaca, PA - Beaver won back to back games, 3-0, against Penn State Worthington Scranton and Penn State Wilkes Barre Sunday afternoon.
Beaver kicked off their day with a win against Penn State Wilkes Barre 3-0. The first set Beaver won 25-16. In the second set, Beaver held it all only leaving Wilkes Barre to score 11 points giving them a win of 25-11. The third and final set, Wilkes Barre made Beaver work as they scored 21 on Beaver but Beaver was determined to win and they did, winning 25-21 over Wilkes Barre.
Overall leaders of the game included, Jenna Petrucci (New Caslte, PA/ Shenango) who had the most kills with 14 kills. Eden Schaefer (Beaver Falls, PA/ Home School) with 6 kills. Schaefer and Petrucci had 7 digs each. Ryanne "Roxy" Kie (Laguna, NM/ Laguna Acoma) had a total of 4 kills and 6 digs. Kie also led in serves with a total of 8 aces. Julianna Kon (Hopewell, PA/ Hopewell), Vanessa Pollard (Clinton, MD/ Surrattsville), and Brenda Martinez El Centro, CA/ Southwest) shared a total of 3 kills each. Kon leading in digs with 15 then Martinez with 10 digs.
Beaver played Worthington Scranton for their second game of the day. Beaver played each set with determination to gain their second win. Each set was effortlessly performed with outstanding outcomes. Beaver took the first set 25-6. Worthington Scranton tried to answer back in the second set but was unable to compete against Beaver leaving the score 25-11 for the win to Beaver once again. Worthington Scranton was unable to perform anymore in the third set, setting the score the same as the first set, 25-6 for the win to Beaver.
For their second game, Beaver had multiple leaders once again. Petrucci once again led the team with 15 kills. Following her with 9 kills was Pollard. Kie and Mackenzie Keller (Conway, PA/ Freedom) shared a total of 4 kills each. Kon led in serves with a total of 10 aces, Jordan Militello (Industry, PA/ Western Beaver) also delivered in serves with 7 aces. Kon also had 7 digs, along with Petrucci and Kie who had 5 each.
Beaver returns to action Friday, October 9, to play Penn State Greater Allegheny at 6 p.m.
