Lehman, PA- Penn State Beaver women's volleyball wins against Penn State Worthington Scranton.
Beaver started the first set strong with a great passing effort, playing much more as a team. Each player was driven and came to win. Beaver had 7 kills and 13 total attempts in the set. Beaver played with consistency, winning the set 25-7.
Beaver continued to play well and communicated better than they had the game before. They kept the ball in the air for volley's and anytime it hit the ground it was because Beaver scored. Beaver's defense also kept Scranton's scoring efforts low. Beaver won this set with a score of 25-7.
In the last set, Beaver's scoring efforts doubled with 18 total attempts, they were able to get 8 kills. They were playing as a team and were calling out plays. Scranton was able to score more frequently but it wasn't enough to beat Beaver, who won the set 25-13. The final match score was 3-0, Beaver.
Beaver's key players were Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA/Sto-Rox), Sam Brophy (Pittsburgh, PA/North Catholic), and Jocelyn Warfield (Monaca, PA/Central Valley) who all led the team in kills. The team had 23 kills all together and Amanda Palombo (Aliquippa, PA/Quigley Catholic) led the team in serve aces.
