Monaca, PA - Today the Women's Soccer Team took on Garrett College in their season opener. The Garrett College Lakers proved to be a tough opponent for the Lions. The game began slow, with neither team scoring for almost ten minutes. Lakers scored their first goal of the game at 7:58. They would then go on to score two more goals in the first half. The Lakers then went on to score seven goals throughout the second half of the game. The Lions struggled to get any shots on goal this game finishing with zero shots taken and zero goals scored. The Lakers would leave the Lions behind traveling home with a 10-0 win.
First year Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL) played the entire game in the goal finishing with 22 saves out of 32 shots on goal.
