Youngwood, PA -- The women's soccer team cruises past Westmoreland County Community College by a final score of 12-0.
After a tough loss against Penn State Hazleton, the women bounced back against the Wolfpark this afternoon. Opening the scoring for the Lady Lions was Jessica Spina who netted the first two goals of the game in the first six minutes, earning the assists were Marissa Bucklen and Lauren Banks respectively.
Just minutes later, after a pair of goals off of the toes of Bukuru Edisa and Lauren Banks, Spina netted her third of the game tallying her first hat trick of the season and giving the Lady Lions a five goal lead less than fifteen minutes into the game.
To close out the first half, the Lady Lions would score an additional three goals to take an 8-0 advantage into half time.
In the second half, Beaver got right back to work as Georgina Coker scored back to back goals with assists from Banks and Bucklen. With a 10-0 lead, the ladies would tack on two more goals before time expired, earning the 12-0 victory.
Leading the Lady Lions were Spina and Banks, each with a hat trick. They were followed by Bukuru Edisa and Lauren Banks who each had a pair of goals.
The win puts Beaver at 2-4 overall as they prepare to face conference rival Penn State Brandywine on Saturday, September 24th at home. Kick off is slated for 12:00 p.m.
