Bio

Coach Winkle will lead the Penn State Beaver wrestling program in its forth season in 2014 -2015. 

In their inaugural season, the squad had an overall record of 5-10(2-4 PSUAC). In the 2012-2013 campaign the squad struggled, going 0-10 (0-5 PSUAC) on season. Despite the lack of depth on their roster, Winkle did produce 3 PSUAC All-Conference wrestlers.  Earning a spot on the second team was DeVante Phillip, also, earning Honorable Mention were Dylan Winkle and Ben Barcaskey.  

In his third season, Winkle led the team to a 2-8 overall record (2-2 PSUAC) and produced an All-Conference wrestler in Wendell Rubright. 

In three seasons, even with small squads, the program had 7 wrestlers receive PSUAC All-Academic honors.  Mr.Winkle feels the wrestling program is gaining momentum and attention both locally and regionally.  He looks forward to continuing growth of wrestling program and exciting opportunities available in the sport of wrestling at the collegiate level.

Coach Winkle is a graduate of, and former wrestler for, Hopewell High School and has been active in that schools wrestling program for thirteen years. He holds a master's degree in strategic leadership from Mountain State University and a bachelor’s degree in human resources from Geneva College.

Coach Winkle resides with his wife, Lori, daughter, Sarah, and sons Dylan and Dustin in Independence Township.
