Wrestling Opens Season at Penn State Fayette
Uniontown, PA -- Wrestling opens season under new head coach at Conference Duels at Penn State Fayette.
Sunday, November 15th, the Wrestling team traveled to Penn State Fayette for the PSUAC Team Duels. Participating teams included: Beaver, Fayette, Mont Alto, New Kensington and Schuylkill.
On the day, Beaver, individually, competed well. Freshman, Nick VanDyke (Baden, PA / Ambridge) went 2-3 in the 157 weight class. At 165 sophomore, Donnie Kerr Ellwood CIty, PA / Ellwood() went 3-2 as did Dustin Winkle (Independence, PA / Hopewell). Going 2-2 on his day was sophomore, Jim Helbley (Washington, PA / McGuffey). Rounding out the day and leading the Lions in individual wins was freshman, Ivan Rodriguez (Dallas, TX / Woodrow Wilson) who only took one loss going 4-1.
The Lions will return to action on Saturday, November 21st when they travel to the University of Findlay for the Findlay Open.
