Tough Loss for Lady Lions against Shenango Puts Them in Second in the PSUAC West
Lady Lions lose close match against PSUAC West opponent

Monaca, PA- The first half of the game was a tough start for the Lady Lions. Scoring only 20 in the first quarter, the Women's team needed to claw their way back before the half. Finishing down by 10 at the half, the Women's team had some ups and downs during this game. Scoring first was Second-year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) who scored off a three only 30 seconds into the game. First-year, Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) scored the next set of points for Beaver off a layup. Beaver's next 3 points came from Siegfried. At the end of the half, the score was 52-40. Coming out of the locker room, Siegfried made yet another three. Entering into the fourth quarter, Second-year Taylor Woodruff scored a jumper. Scoring the final points of the game was Enderle with a layup.
First-year, Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) led the team in points this game having 16 points, and impressive 10 rebounds giving her a double double, for a game, 1 assist, and 3 steals. Second-year, Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) scored 15 points, had 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Second-year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) scored 15 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists,1 steal, and the only block. Second-year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) had 15 points. The team went 28-80 which was 35.0% and shot 22-33 from the free throw line for a 66.7% success rate.
Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball is now 12-8 overall and 9-3 in conference play this season. The Women's Basketball team will be home taking on a PSUAC competitor, Penn State New Kensington for Spirit Weekend. Wish them luck on February 8th at 1pm.
