
Shenango Women's Basketball secured sole possession of first place in the PSUAC West with a crucial 97-87 road victory over Penn State Beaver on Tuesday night. The Lions showcased an impressive offensive performance, led by Shar'Da Williamson, who dominated with a massive double-double, posting 33 points and 17 rebounds while adding three assists and three steals.
Hailee Aguinaga also had a standout night, contributing 19 points, 11 rebounds, and six steals, providing a strong inside presence. Jaysina Sellers added 14 points and six made free throws, while Alli Lewis chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds. Aneziah Fryer rounded out the balanced scoring effort with 12 points.
Shenango's efficiency was on display early, shooting 73.3% in the second quarter to build a comfortable lead. Though Penn State Beaver made a strong push in the third quarter, the Lions' defense held firm in the final period, limiting their opponent to 26.9% shooting.
With this win, Penn State Shenango improves to 12-6 overall and 10-2 in conference play, sitting alone atop the PSUAC West standings. They will look to continue their momentum when they face Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday at 1 PM.
