Battle Leaves Beaver Victorious with Score of 73-66

Monaca, PA – Taking on a tough USCAA Competitor after a long weekend of PSUAC games, the Lady Lions faced off against Bryant & Stratton – Cleveland. Being up by 10 at the half, the Lady Lions were in a good spot to keep their foot on the gas. Starting off slowly after coming out of the locker rooms, Beaver had their work cut out for them, but Beaver pushed through and secured the win. Being outscored in only 1 quarter coming straight out of half time, the Lady Lions made sure to give themselves some room to play in the 4^th going up by 12 at one point. With the final score being 73-66 the Lions took down the Bobcats with flair. Scoring a minute and half into the game was First-year, Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) who scored off a layup. The Bobcats quickly scored 2 and then 3 making it 5-2, which was followed by Second-year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) who scored a 3-pointer to tie it back up. Beaver kept a good lead for most of the 1^st quarter which then helped them after their 18^th point secure their lead for the rest of the game. Finishing the 1^st quarter up by 6 the Lady Lions were able to outscore the Bobcats by another 4 making the lead 10 by the half. First-year, Cashimere Ralph (Pittsburgh, PA) made the first points of the 2^nd quarter, scoring off a layup. Enderle scored off a layup with a little over a minute left and nobody scored on either side after 45 seconds. Coming out of the locker room, First-year, Jaden Tesch (Chippewa, PA) scored first for Beaver, while Second-year, Claudia Seigfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) closed out the quarter with a 3-point shot. Going into the 4^th quarter up by 6 Beaver had to stay locked in. Enderle was the first to score for Beaver once again, and she closed out scoring for Beaver making their 72^nd and 73^rd point.

First-year, Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) lead her team and got her first collegiate career double-double. Enderle had 13 points, 13 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals this game. Second-year, Claudia Seigfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) scored and impressive 17 points, had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. First-year, Jaden Tesch (Chippewa, PA) scored 16 points, had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals. Also scoring high tonight were First-year, Bailey Rieg (Pittsburgh, PA), and Second-year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX). Who scored 9 points each. Helping their team in the rebound category were Second-year, Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) who had 8 rebounds, while First-year , Cashimere Ralph (Pittsburgh, PA) was just 1 under Woodruff with 7 rebounds. The team pulled down 43 rebounds, had 13 assists, and 17 steals, along with 1 block.

Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball is now 56-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play this season. The team will take the court again on Friday, December 13^th at 6pm when they take on another PSUAC Competitor, Penn State Scranton. This Friday is a T-Shirt Giveaway for our Rise and Roar T-Shirts!
