Beaver Dominates First Game of the Regular Season
Beaver Women's Basketball Dominates Apprentice School in an exciting 88-54 victory
Monaca, PA - In exciting Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball fashion, the team opens the 2024-25 season with a dominating win over the Apprentice School in this year's USCAA Tip-Off Tournament. This marks the first win of the season for the Lady Lions with a 88-54 victory. Within the first half of the game the Penn State Beaver Womens Basketball team put a strong 45 points which was almost double compared to Apprentice's 23 points.. With First-year Jaden Tesch (Chippewa, PA) scoring the first two points off of a lay up within the first minute of the game followed up by another lay up scored by Second-year Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) put Beaver up 4-0, 2 minutes into the game. Beaver held an 11-0 lead before Apprentice scored and extended that into a 23-6 lead with under 3 minutes to go in the first quarter.The 2nd quarter started hot again for Beaver being up 34-11 for just over 2 minutes in the game. Beaver continued to psuh through the second quarter and hold a strong lead of 22 points through the majority of the quarter. Black scored the first point of the 3rd quarter which was followed up by Second-Year player Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) who score off of a layup. First-year, Bailey Rieg (Pittsburgh, PA) scored the final point of the 3rd quarter, and it was a total team effort in the 4th quarter to score their final 14 points.
Second-year Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) played a strong game both offensively and defensively getting having 14 points., 3 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals. Along with that First-year Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) scored 12 points, had 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, and 1 block. Second-year Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) played tough with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 6 steals. First-year players, Bailey Rieg (Pittsburgh, PA), Morghan Prevost (Hosuton, TX) scored 12 and 13 points respectively, and Second-Year player Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) scored 10 points.
Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball is now 1-0 overall as they come off their PSAUC Champion season.
