Monaca, PA - Tonight the Lady Lions fought hard and advanced to the PSUAC Championship game on Saturday, February 26th at 4pm. The Lady Lions had a hard fight this season with a slow start but have been able to bounce back and show their skills and heart on the court. Tonight against Penn State Lehigh Valley was tough, going up 10-0 in the first few minutes of the game, and ending the first quarter 14-14. The ladies had 2 dominate quarters out scoring their opponents 16-10 and 24-13, they then finished them off with 11 points in the last quarter.
For the Lions all 4 seniors had a hugeb hand in their success tonight. Led by Senior, Emily Keener with 21 points, 1 rebounds, and 2 assists. Senior, Mikayla Womer scored 14, Senior, Alexis Cross scored 13 and 10 rebounds, and Senior, Jimya Chambers scored 7 and 6 rebounds. The bench came alive tonight and helped the Lions cause, they played well and helped keep the energy alive.
The ladies sit at 19-7 overall for the season going into the PSUAC Championship game. With that they will fight for another title and another chance to go to the USCAA National Small College Basketball Tournament in March.
