Uniontown, PA- The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions Bid to repeat as USCAA National Champions came to an abrupt end Friday night. The Lions ran into a hot #1 seeded St Joseph's (VT) while playing maybe the worst game they have played in recent memory.
In the first quarter, St. Joe's built a 29-16 lead. By half, the lead grew to 51-32. St Joe's kept the pedal down, starting the third off with a 12-4 run, expanding their lead to 63-36 by the media timeout. That margin would stand after three quarters of play, as St Joe's led 73-46. Beaver won the final quarter, but came up way short, losing by a score of 92-71.
In the loss, Beaver was led in scoring by Sophomore Brittany Jackson with 20 points. Morgan Kurtz and Khalia Adams added 18 and 13 respectively.
After the loss in the USCAA semifinals, Beaver finished 19-10 overall while winning their fourth consecutive PSUAC Championship. Senior's Khalia Adams and Morgan Kurtz finish their careers winning four PSUAC Championships and one USCAA National Championship.
