Lady Lions win on the road against Brandywine
Beaver defeat PSU Brandywine, 89-71

Media, PA - Penn State Beaver beats Penn State Brandywine in a close game at Brandywine, 89-71.
The first quarter started off well for Brandywine, scoring 4 points in the first minute (0-4) Brandywine then built a small lead which they held for the first 6 minutes until Brittany Jackson (Turtle Creek, PA / Westinghouse) tied the game 9-9 on a layup. A pair of free throws from Mia Mattes (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) then gave Beaver their first lead (11-9). Beaver seemed to be in control for the last three minutes until Brandywine stole the lead (22-21) with just 15 seconds left in the quarter.
Beaver scored the first two points of the second quarter to go up 23-22 on a Jenna Petrucci(New Castle, PA / Shenango) jumper. The teams exchanged points for the next three minutes until Beaver finally took the lead with just under 7 minutes to play in the half. The Lady Lions found a rhythm and took a 10 point (47-37) into halftime.
Beaver continued to lead all the way through the third quarter, even holding a 23 point lead at the 1:35 mark (71-48). After dominatnig the third, Beaver was able to comfortably play through the fourth quarter and go on to win their second PSUAC game of the season, 89-71.
The leading point scorer for Beaver was Brittany Jackson (Turle Creek, PA / Westinghouse) with 23 points scored, closely followed by Mia Mattes (Bethel Park, PA/ Bethel Park) who scored 18 points. Miranda Davis (Port Saint Lucie, FL / Saint Lucie West Centennial) had the most rebounds with 16.
Beaver's next game is against Penn State Lehigh Valley at Cedar Crest College, tip-off 1 p.m on Sunday, December 6th.
