Penn State Lady Lions took an epic victory at home from Kent State for Seniors Night
Monaca, PA- Penn State Beaver Lady Lions took on a doubleheader against Kent State Tuscarawas during their Senior Appreciation Night. Before the game started, the Beaver coaches and team showed appreciation to Graduating seniors Third-year Selene Arteaga (Simi Valley, CA), Fourth-year Mackenzie Boyd (Beaver, PA), Fourth-year Allison Van Kirk (Pittsburgh, PA), Fourth-year Victori Farrell (Allentown, PA), Fourth-year Maria Matts (Pittsburgh, PA), and Fourth-year Gabbey Flynt (Fayetteville, TN). Congrats to these seniors for an outstanding career in Softball with Penn State Beaver. Game 1 wouls soon start and see total domination against Kent State. Beaver would see 6 points earned within the first inning by Third-year Selene Arteaga (Simi Valley, CA), Second-year Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL), First-year Reza Benson (Sunbury, OH), First-year Emilee Waggoner (Conway, PA), and Fourth-year Gabbey Flynt (Fayetteville, TN). Beaver would continue to score in the third inning, holding Kent State back from gaining any points. Third-year Selene Arteaga (Simi Valley, CA) and Fourth-year Mackenzie Boyd (Beaver, PA)) would bring home Beaver their winning points at the end of the third inning. Final score for the game would be Beaver 12, Kent State 0. Game 2 would see Kent State put up a bit more of a fight against Beaver, being the first to score points. Beaver would respond to this with Third-year Selene Arteaga (Simi Valley, CA) and Fourth-year Mackenzie Boyd (Beaver, PA) scoring on a wild pitch, followed by Second-year Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL), First-year Emilee Waggoner (Conway, PA), and First-year Reza Benson (Sunbury, OH). Beaver would continue to score in the fourth inning, with Third-year Selene Arteaga (Simi Valley, CA) making a run to home on a wild pitch and First-year Emilee Waggoner (Conway, PA) making an impressive run to steal home. The final score at the top of the fifth inning would be 4-12 in favor of Beaver.
