Luzerne County, PA- Penn State Beaver Lady Lions took a softball trip up to Penn State Hazeltons Campus for a doubles match, seeking out an ultimate victory in both games. Game 1 would see Beaver quickly score at the top of the first by Second-year Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL) and First-year Reza Benson (Sunbury, OH). Hazelton would even it out during the bottom of the first, but Beaver would once again advance forward by Fourth-year Victoria Farrell (Allentown, PA), Second-year Cassidy Crean (Wrightsville, PA), and Selene Arteaga making home during the second. Scoring for both sides would come to a stand still, with Beaver makign their final plays in the sixth inning by Third-year Selene Arteaga (Simi Valley, CA), Second-year Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL), and Fourth-year Maria Matts (Pittsburgh, PA), ending with a 9-4 lead. Game 2 would be even more eventful for Beaver. Beaver would see back to back scoring in the first three innings with no pushback from Hazelton. Beaver would end the second match with a 16-0 victory. Notable players during this game were Fourth-year Mackenzie Boyd (Beaver, PA), Second-year Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL), and First-year Emilee Waggoner (Conway, PA).
