Monaca, PA - After a slow start Beavers bats came to life in the first game. With a final score of 9-5 after 14 hits the Lady Lions were ready for anything. In the second game, that readiness came in handy. The second game went into extra innings where the Lions came out victorious with a score of 10-9.
Starting the first game on the mound for Beaver was Freshman, Kiana Stamper, she faced 15 batters giving up 8 hits. Coming in relief for Stamper was Junior, Desiree Aponte who faced 18 batters, striking out 2 and giving up only 1 hit. Junior, Chloe Coleman went 2 for 4 with a double, triple, 1 RBI, and 2 runs. Senior, Skylar Duffee went 2 for 4 as well with 2 runs and a double. Freshman, Maria Matts went 2 for 3 scoring 2 runs as well, helping the Lady Lions to their 9 run victory. Scoring 9 runs off 14 hits with 8 RBI's the Lady Lions had a day at the plate.
The second game for Beaver started off better scoring 4 runs in the first but ended in extra innings, after scoring 2 in the bottom of the 8th Beaver secured the win. With 11 hits in the second game Beaver was able to score 10 runs off 10 RBI's. Junior, Chloe Coleman continued to have a day at the plate going 3 for 5 with 3 doubles, scoring 3 runs, with 3 RBI's, and a stolen base. Freshman, Maria Matts went 2 for 4 in the second game scoring 2. Freshman, Elena Denezza went 2 for 4 this game scoring 2 runs and bringing in 2 RBI's one of which was the winning run in the bottom of the 8th when Coleman scored.
The Lions scored a total of 19 runs for the day off of 25 hits. With this the Lady Lions record moves to 7-6 in conference and 9-11 overall. The team is scheduled to return to the field on Saturday, April 16th at 5pm and 7pm when they travel to take on Penn State Greater Allegheny.
