Softball: Lady Lions Comeback falls short, Loses to Madona University 5-2
Madona University 5, PSU Beaver 2
North Myrtle Beach, SC- The lady lions dropped to 1-4 on the season, losing to Madona University by the score of 5-2.
Madona opened the scoring, plating one run in the first and second innings to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Beaver's defense then went to work. Offensively, Beaver was hitting the ball solid, but could not find any holes in a strong Madona Defense. In the sixth, Beaver recorded the first two outs before Madona would break it open with three runs to take a 5-0 lead. In the seventh, Beaver's offense came alive, but it was too little too late as Beaver fell 5-2.
In the loss, Senior Skylar Duffee was 1-3 with a triple, run, and an RBI. Freshman Gabbey Flynt threw six innings, giving up six hits.
The Lady Lions will return to action Thursday. They play Clarks Summit at 11:30 a.m. and then rounds up the trip with Hilbert at 3:30.
