Softball: Lady Lions win 1st of 2022, go 1-1 in Day 2
The Lady Lions opened day 2 with a 8-0 loss to Lincoln University; but rebounded with a win over Iowa Wesleyan 6-4.

North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina- The Penn State Beaver Softball team split in Day 2.
In the opener, the Lady Lions were held hitless by Lincoln University as Beaver fell 8-0 in five innings.
In game two, Beaver's offense came alive. In the second inning, Junior Cassadie Speed hit her first home run of the season to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. In the next inning, Beaver scored 3. After a sac fly from Senior Skylar Duffee, Speed struck again with a one out double, plating two to give Beaver the 4-0 lead. In the fifth, Speed drove in Duffy and then Freshman Kayla Fink brought home Speed to bring the lead to 6-0. Iowa Wesley scored three in the fifth, making it 6-3. In the 7th, Iowa scored one and had the tying run on first, but Beaver hung on for the win.
Freshman Kiana Stamper recorded her first collegiate victory on the mound, throwing seven innings for the complete game. She gave up 3 earned runs on 11 hits.
Offensively, Beaver pounded out 13 hits. Junior Chloe Coleman went 4-4, scoring a run. Speed finished 3-4, 2 runs, 4 RBI's and a home run. Junior Desiree Aponte went 3-4.
Beaver now stands at 1-3 on the season. They will return to action tomorrow, when they take on Madonna University at 1:30PM, and then former PSUAC foe Penn College at 5:30PM.
