North Myrtle Beach, SC- The Penn State Beaver Softball team headed South to open the 2022 season. On Day 1, the took on Carolina University in a double header. The Lady Lions fell by the scores of 9-2 and 11-2.
In game 1, Junior Desiree Aponte took the loss. Aponte threw five innings, walking one and striking out 5. Aponte led offensively with 2 hits and scored a run. Carolina scored 4 in the third and five in the fourth.
In game 2, Freshman Gabbey Flynt took the loss. Flynt walked eight and struck out six. Junior Taylor Harper led offensively with 2 hits and scored a run.
Beaver opens the season 0-2. The Lady Lions return to action Tuesday, taking on Lincoln College at 3:30PM, and then Iowa Weslyian at 5:30PM.
