Beaver Softball Loses Two on the Road to Penn State Du Bois
The Penn State Beaver softball team took to the road Wednesday afternoon, losing both games of a doubleheader to Penn State Du Bois.

Evan Pinchot - The Penn State Beaver softball team took to the road Wednesday afternoon, losing both games of a doubleheader to Penn State Du Bois.
In game one of Beaver's doubleheader with Du Bois, the lady lions of Beaver struggled mightily against a great pitching performance by Du Bois. With one of their worst offensive performances of the season, Beaver was only able to tally one hit, courtesy of Sophomore Marian Nelson (Fairbanks, Ak / Monroe Catholic), while striking out 17 times in their 6-0 loss to Du Bois.
Game two of Beaver's doubleheader showed much more of a fight from Beaver, but once again they would end up coming short to Du Bois. After letting up 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning, Beaver briefly stole the lead back from Du Bois in the top of the third. However, they would end up losing their only lead of the day in the bottom half of the inning, as Du Bois would end up rallying for 7 runs of their own to take a lead that they would not surrender for the rest of the game. In the end, despite a good fight by Beaver, Du Bois would prevail by a final score of 13-5.
After being swept by Du Bois on Wednesday afternoon, Beaver will finally end their regular season with a final record of 16-8 in conference and overall play. With this record, Beaver has qualified for the PSUAC playoffs, and will return to action again on Saturday, May 1. Beaver will host the women of Penn State New Kensington for a single game, first-round matchup. Game time is set for 2 pm.
