Lady Lions Fall 4-1 to Delaware Valley
Vero Beach, FL -- Beaver loses final game of the day, but finally starts to come together.
After struggling against Condordia earlier in the day, the Lady Lions turned things around in their second game of the day. In the first inning, despite not scoring a run, they were able to generate two base runners to get the bats going. Defensively, they solidified as well, holding DelVal scoreless in the bottom of the inning. In the second, Beaver got on the board on an RBI single from Searra Thumm (Beaver Falls, PA / Beaver Falls).
Beaver continued to play stingey defense through the third inning, but then stumbled in the bottom of the fourth as they gave up three runs and then another in the bottom of the fifth. As the defense struggled the bats also got cold and Beaver couldn't even generate a hit in their final two at bats.
This loss bumps their record to 0-9 on the week. Despite the tough loss, the Lady Lions finally started to get their offense going and cleaned up their defense as well. Both Rachael Charlier (Burgettstown, PA / Burgettstown) and Taylor Myers (Eighty Four, PA / Ringgold) went 2 for 3 on the day, while three other batters also had hits in the game.
Beaver will play their final game of spring break tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. against Sinclair Community College.
