Virgina Beach, Va- For the third time in program history, the Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer program traveled down south to Virginia Beach, Virginia for the 2021 Division II USCAA Men's Soccer National Championship tournament. In game one of pool play, Beaver took on #1 seeded Five Towns College from New York, New York.
Five Towns struck quick. Three minutes in, Five Towns netted a free kick to take and early 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, Beaver helped out the sounds by scoring an own goal off a Five Town's corner kick to fall behind 2-0. 50 seconds later, Beaver scored again, this time in their own net. At the 22 minute mark, Freshman Nadeem Shakshir scored an unassisted goal to make it 3-2. This was the closest it would be. Five Towns scored twice more before half to lead 5-2 at the break.
