Men's Soccer to Play in USCAA National Championship Game

Virginia Beach, VA - Number one seed Five Towns College will compete in the USCAA National Championship game on Monday, November 15 at 4:30 PM at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.  The Sound will play to win the first ever national championship, in only the program's second season. Five Towns will face Penn State Brandywine for the first-ever matchup between the two teams; Brandywine is the 2018 USCAA Division II National Champion. Five Towns won the first two games in pool play at the USCAA Tournament. In the first game, Five Towns defeated Penn State Beaver 8-3. Eight different players scored in the match: Andre Hickling, Juan Lopez, William Rivera, Brian Solano, Anthony Campos, Joel Funez, James Habert, Sebastian Gomez.

In the second game of the weekend, Five Towns faced a tough Central Maine Community College in a match that ended 3-3 at the end of regulation and two overtime periods to go into penalty kicks. Franklin Fuentes made a huge save on the first penalty kick from the Mustangs, and the five Sound players each were able to find the back of the net to take the advantage 5-3 in penalty kicks. Penalty kick goals were scored by Anthony Campos, Joel Funez, James Habert, Sebastian Gomez, and Andre Hickling.

Five Towns men's soccer is now 15-1 on the season, with 14 consecutive wins. After winning the HVIAC conference championship on October 31st, the Sound is looking to add another title to the historic season.
