Beaver Falls, PA- On Saturday, The Penn Beaver Men's Soccer stopped a 2 game losing streak, defeating visiting Penn State Hazleton.
Beaver set the tone early as Junior Misa Garcia scored an unassisted goal six minutes in to give Beaver the 1-0 lead. At the 18 minute mark, Freshman Angel Patino scored on a pass from Junior Jake Saldivar. Beaver scored again at teh 22 minute mark as Sophomore Andrew Bollinger scored on an assist from Sophomore Frederick Riedel. To round up the scoring in the first half, Freshman Nadeem Shakshir added an unassisted to take a 4-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, Garcia headed a pass into the back of the net for his second goal of the game. He was assisted by Senior Jake Kosuda. At the 79 minute mark, Freshman Colton Heasley got in on the scoring, netting an unassisted goal. With 2 minutes left, Kosuda scored a goal of his own. That would end the scoring, and Beaver recorded the 7-0 win.
With the win, Beaver now sits at 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the PSUAC. The Lions return to PSUAC action on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021
