Alfred, NY -- Beaver loses tough contest on the road to Alfred State, giving up five unanswered goals.
Logan Ridgley netted the first goal of the game to give Beaver the lead 10:46 into the contest, scoring from about 30 yards out on a direct kick. Just several minutes later the Lions would allow Alfred State to tie the game 1-1. As both teams then settled in defensively, the half remained a stalemate as they headed into half time maintaining the tie game.
In the second half, the Pioneers scored early and often as Beaver let them dominate the first twenty minutes giving up four goals. The Lions fell by a final score of 5-1 as they were outshot 5 to 27 against a tough defense from Alfred State.
In net for Beaver was Sam Sharpless who did make 12 saves in the game.
The team now sits at 3-4-1 as they get a few days off after a busy weekend. They will return to action on September 30th when they travel to Penn State Wilkes Barre.
