Men end losing streak with 81-73 win
Beaver ends five game losing streak defeating Penn State Worthington Scranton 81-73

Monaca, PA - Beaver snaps five game losing streak including four in the conference by defeating Penn State Worthington Scranton 81-73.
Sophomore Christian Perkins (Pittsburgh, Pa/Perry) started the game out with a three point jumper for Beaver giving them a quick lead 3-0. Scranton would answer going on a nine point run going up 9-3 four minutes into the first half. Sophomore Eric Gallupe (Sewickley, PA/Avonworth) would give Beaver a 24-23 lead with nine minutes left in the first half. Gallupe had the hot hand scoring 17 points in the first period. Beaver would go up 37-36 going into halftime
Gallupe would continue his hot hand scoring six straight points to start the second half. Senior Lamont Wright (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) would add a layup putting Beaver up 47-42. Beaver would go up thirteen with Sophomore DJ Austin (East Liverpool, OH/East Liverpool) adding a layup with with five minutes left to go in the game. Scranton would pull within six but Wright would add two free throws with four seconds in the game to make the final score 81-73.
Gallupe would have a game high 30 points followed by Wright with 18 and Austin with 13. Gallupe would also lead the team with 12 rebounds. Junior Ignacio Alleyne (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) would add 11 rebounds.
Beaver now has an overall record of 7-12 and 5-6 in the conference. They travel to Penn State Fayette on Wednesday, February 3rd for their next game.
