Beaver lose to Mount Union on the road

Alliance, OH - In their third game of the season, the Lions fell 118-91 to Mount Union bringing their record to 1-2 on the season.
In a little over the first 4 minutes of the first half, Beaver had gained a lead over Mount Union (11-10). Mount Union answered back with a lay up making the score 11-12. But then Beaver held a significant lead for a few minutes until 12 minutes until the half was over, where the score was tied 19-19. With a jumpshot made from Lamont Wright (Pittsburgh, PA/ Penn Hills), the Lions went ahead of Mount Union again. With 10 minutesto go in the first half, Mount Union held the lead on Beaver. Despite the offensive spark from Mount Union, Beaver held their own, only trailing behind them by two points for the rest of the half, until the end when they finished the first half 55-48 to Mount Union.
Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/ Perry) opened the second half with a jumpshot less than 20 seconds in (55-50). Despite good offensive strategies done by Smith, Gerald Boykin (Ambridge, PA/ Aliquippa), and Eric Gallupe (Sewickley, PA/ Avonworth), Mount Unions defense and offense were too much to overcome for Beaver, resulting in the Lions losing 118-91.
Leading the Lions offensively was Wright who put up a total of 28 points. Following behind was Gallupe, who contributed 23 points.
Beaver's next game is Saturday, November 21st at Central Maine CC where they will tip-off at 8 p.m.
