Beaver Wins 3rd WPACRHL Inline Hockey Championship
Monaca, PA - After a hiatus of Inline Hockey for the Fightin' Beavs they came back this season with a mission, to win the WPACRHL Championship. After a tough start to the season and a short roster they were able to do just that. Competiting against teams like Duquesne, Robert Morris, and Carnegie Mellon they showed up and showed out during the playoffs and the championship round.
In the Championship Rounds, which took place at the RMU Island Sports Complex, the Fightin' Beavs took on Carnegie Mellon University who was a tough competitior. The first game the Fightin' Beavs went down early but played with heart and came back to secure a 11-9 victory to start the series. The second game was even more impressive as they finished the series with a 14-6 victory and brought home the championship once again.
The club started the season with only 2-3 players. The Advisor, Frankie Checchio, Sophomore, Christian Bohon, Junior, Krissy Hogue, and Head Coach, Matthew Welch were instrumental in recruiting for the team and developing the players throughout the season. This championship win is a testament to their hard work and determination.
