Baseball drops a doubleheader on the Road

Mont Alto, PA - Beaver traveled to Mont Alto Pennsylvania today to take on Penn State Mont Alto. Their double-header against them proved to be another tough game for beaver,but they gave it their all fighting until the end. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome Penn State Mont Alto. After this devastating loss they now are 2-20 overall and 2-7 in conference play.

In the first game, Beaver started off the top of the first inning with two strikeouts and a fly ball to center field for a third out giving Penn State Mont Alto a big momentum swing early. Penn State Mont Alto jumped out to an early lead and ended the first inning with 4 runs to start the game. Beaver started to gain some traction in the top of the 4th when Sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn, WA) singled to left field, getting to first before Freshman Christopher Cann (Selden,NY) doubled down the IF line, sending Sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn, WA) to third base in hopes of scoring. However, they did not get the chance before Penn State Mont Alto gave Beaver their third out. Sophomore Aaron Stribling (Hainesport, NJ)  started as pitcher today for Penn State Beaver and faced 14 batters while Freshman Jordon Streamo was his relief pitcher and faced 20 batters. The final score of this game was 14-0. 

In the second game, Sadly Beaver could not avenge themselves in this game either. Penn State Beaver gained some confidence in the top of the third after Sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn,WA)  grinded his way to third base allowing Sophomore Jacob Gresham (San Francisco,CA) to get a hit up the middle of the field allowing Beaver to get their first score of the day. Sophomore Jericho Dela Cruz (Auburn,WA)  scored a run and went 2-2 at bat and ended the game with no errors. Sophomore Jacob Gresham also added to the scoring column with one run going 1-2 at bat. The final score for this game was 12-2.
