Beaver falls to 8-2 in the PSUAC
Beaver falls 7-0 in game two of the double header.
Monaca, PA – Beaver drops game two of the double header against Penn State Schuykill on Saturday afternoon.
After a slow start in game one, Beaver continued to struggle in their second game of the afternoon. On the mound for Beaver was sophomore, Matt Sweikowski (Zelienople, PA/Seneca Valley) who couldn't seem to keep the offense of Schuylkill off the base paths. Despite his 6 strikeouts, Sweikowski's efforts weren't enough as Schuylkill scored a pair in the second inning, three more in the fifth and then closed the seventh inning with an additional two runs.
Beaver's offense offered no run support as they managed only 3 hits in the game. Those hits came from Blaise McCarty (Beaver Falls, PA/Riverside), Austin Logan (Beaver, PA/Beaver) and Matt Rose (Beaver, PA/Beaver). Beaver fell by a final score of 7-0 which drops them to 8-2 in the PSUAC.
The Lions return to action tomorrow afternoon for another double header as they face Penn State Brandywine at 12:00 PM.
