Beaver Players Awarded PSUAC and USCAA Honors
On Wednesday, March 5, 2014 the PSUAC and USCAA announced their 2013-14 selections for All-Conference and All-American.
From the Men's Basketball team, being named PSUAC 1st Team All-Conference were senior Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls) and sophomore Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills). Both players had phenomenal seasons, each with over 500 season points. Senior, Chris Weathers (New Brighton, PA/New Brighton), also made the team with 474 points this season.
From the Women's Basketball team, sophomore Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA / Westinghouse) was named PSUAC 2nd Team All-Conference. Flowers had 283 rebounds this season which validated that she was a top player in the conference. Sophomores, Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA/Trinity) and Khalia Adams (Washington, DC/Phelps), were each honorable mentions.
Freshman, Wendell Rubright (Harmony, PA/Seneca Valley) was named to the PSUAC All-Conference 2nd Team for wrestling as well.
The USCAA All-American honors were given to Miller, who is a three-time All-American; and Agurs, who is a two-time All-American. Weathers and Flowers also received USCAA honors, earning honorable mentions.
