A New Chapter on the Links: Bryce Egger Leads Beaver Golf Relaunch
Bryce Egger Named Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach
Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver Athletics has announced the hiring of Bryce Egger as the head coach of the men’s and women’s golf programs. Egger will lead both programs as Penn State Beaver relaunches intercollegiate golf for the first time since 2004.
Egger brings deep local roots and an extensive background as both a competitive golfer and successful coach. A native of the Beaver Falls area, he is a 2014 graduate of Blackhawk High School, where he competed in golf for three seasons. During his high school career, Egger earned Individual WPIAL Section Champion honors and advanced to the Individual WPIAL Finals during his senior year.
Following high school, Egger continued his academic and athletic career at Washington & Jefferson College, where he competed on the NCAA men’s golf team for four years. While at W&J, he was named a PAC All-Conference golfer, helped lead three conference championship teams, and served as Team Captain during his senior season.
After completing his collegiate playing career, Egger transitioned into coaching and youth development. He spent ten years as the Program Director for The First Tee of Beaver Falls, where he focused on growing the game of golf while emphasizing leadership, character, and life skills. He also served as Head Varsity Golf Coach at Beaver Area School District for one year and has led the Blackhawk School District varsity golf program for the past three seasons.
Egger holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Washington & Jefferson College and a master’s degree in School Administration from California University of Pennsylvania. He currently teaches 6th grade Science and Social Studies in the Blackhawk School District. He resides in New Castle, Pennsylvania with his wife, Sarah, and their dog, Bunker.
“I am beyond excited to be a part of the PSU Beaver community,” Egger said. “I’m going to strive to build a competitive golf program that supports student-athletes both on and off the golf course.”
Penn State Beaver Athletic Director Andy Kirschner expressed enthusiasm for both the addition of golf and the hire of Egger to lead the new programs. “We are thrilled to add men’s and women’s golf to our athletic offerings and even more excited to have Bryce Egger leading the inaugural season,” Kirschner said. “Bryce brings outstanding playing experience, a proven coaching background, and strong ties to the local community. He is the perfect person to build this program from the ground up and establish a strong foundation for long-term success.”
With Egger at the helm, Penn State Beaver Athletics looks forward to launching its golf programs with a focus on competitive excellence, academic success, and student-athlete development.
