Monaca, PA – Penn State Beaver volleyball hosted Butler County Community College this evening in a tough out of conference match. Butler County CC enters tonight's match with an undefeated record including a few matches against other PSUAC opponents.
In the first set of the match Beaver got off to a slow start going down by a score of 8-3. They were able to respond after this battling back to within three points, making the score 11-8. Although Beaver was able to make it a close set Butler County CC went on an eleven-point run before taking the first set 25-12. Set two looked very similar to set one where the score was close until it was 5-4 and then Butler County CC went on an eight-point run to make the score 14-4. Unfortunately, this deficit was too much for Beaver to overcome and they lost set two 25-12. Set three was played much closer with Beaver going on a five-point run to take the lead 7-6. The rest of the set was back and forth until Butler County CC took the lead 18-15 and then they went on to win the final set 25-16 and the match by a score of 3-0.
Penn State Beaver plays their next match on September 28th at home against Penn State Du Bois at 2:00 pm.
