Road Trip Brings Home Loss For Beaver 0-3 Against Butler County CC
Butler, PA - After a tough PSUAC Match-up the Lions has a weekend to rest and reset though it was clearly not enough when the hit the road to take on Butler County Community College. Today's game ended after just 3 sets with the final score leaning in favor of Butler 3-0. The set scores were as follows, 25-22 Butler, 25-22, Butler, and 25-17 Butler. Beaver excelled in the first half of sets 1 and 2 but where unable to continue holding on to their early lead. Beaver took a total of 127 total attack chances on the day but only earned 28 kills from that.
Leading the way for Beaver was First-Year, Sofia Perez (Botoga, Columbia) who has 9 kills, 1 serice ace, 12 digs and 1 solo block. Next up for Beaver was First-Year, Zoie Reid (Salem, OH) who had 7 kills, 1 serivce aces, 7 digs and also had a solo block. Third-Year, Lanie French (Beaver, PA) had an impressive 15 digs on the night along with 1 assist and 1 serivce ace. Second-Year, Courtney Simpkins lead the team in assists with 26 and helped her team even further with 2 assisted blocks.
The team is currently sitting with a record of 6-9 overall and 3-5 in conference. They look to make their come back when the take the court again on Thursday, October 12th at 7pm. They will be taking on Penn State New Kensington in a tough PSUAC Match-Up.
