Lions Fall Short Against Fayette

Monaca, Pa - The Lions were back at home today taking on Penn State Fayette. Beaver has had tough luck the past two game not being able to capture a win. The game today started off strong, but by the end Beaver fell just short and Fayette handed them their third loss in a row.
The first two sets were both in Beaver's favor. They dominated quickly, and although Fayette grew close, Beaver was able to get a 25-22 win in the first set, and a 25-21 win in the second set.
The third set is where Beaver started to decline. Fayette was able to play off their mistakes, which gave them their first set win 25-20. Beaver was able to clean up their act a bit in the fourth set, but fell short 25-23. This win for Fayette forced a fifth set, which was a good one to watch. The set remained close the entire time, as Beaver scored, Fayette would turn around and get a point of their own. This went on until the very end where Beaver made one to many mistakes, and Fayette was able to close the game 15-12.
Third year Lanie French (Beaver, PA) came out on top for the Lions today finishing with 16 kills, 17 digs, 1 ace, 1 assist, and 3 blocks, two of those being solo blocks. Second year Courtney Simpkins (Palm Bay, FL) finished with a career high 42 assists, and grabbed 3 aces, 16 digs, and 2 kills. First year Sofia Perez (Bogota, Columbia) finished with 12 kills, 1 assist, 2 aces, and 20 digs. First year Jaiden Strnisa (Clinton, PA) finished with 7 kills, 1 ace, and 7 digs.
