Beaver drops road match to Franciscan 1-3
Wintersville, OH - The Lady Lions traveled to take on Franciscan University today in Ohio and were unable to bring home a win. They started the match off hot winning the first set 25-22. After that set though they began to slip finishing the final 3 sets with scores of 11-25, 10-25, and 15-25 respectfully. Beaver scored 61 points on the day, having 16 kills, 13 assists, and 5 service aces.
Leading the way for Beaver was Freshman, Daniela Guzman (Planview, TX), who had 5 kills, 11 digs, and 3 block assists. Senior, Breann King (Houston, PA) helped her team as well with 3 kills, 1 assist, 5 digs, and 1 block assist. Other notable players include, Freshman, Melanie Chuu (Queens, NY) who had 6 digs, Senior, Jakelia Baker (Augusta, GA) who had 4 block assists, and Freshman, Courtney Simpkins (Columbia, MD) who tied Guzman with 11 digs.
The team currently sits at 0-6 on the season with plently of time to keep working and improve the record. This week marks the start of PSUAC play as well, and on Saturday, September 17th the volleyball team will play in the Beaver Field House againt Penn State Fayette at 2pm.
