Beaver falls to Fayette in final game of the regular season

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa.— In the final of the regular season, it was a battle of the titans of the PSUAC-West, as the No. 2 seed Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team took on the No. 1 seed Penn State Fayette during Tuesday night's conference battle. However, the Lady Lions lost the intense game, 3-0.
The teams fought hard in set one, but Fayette pulled out a 6-point win over the Lady Lions and then again in the second set (25-19). Beaver kept it close again in the third set but couldn't finish ahead (25-20) and took a 3-0 loss for the evening.
Freshman Priscilla Medal (Naples/Lorenzo Walker Tech) led the team with five kills, one ace, five digs and two blocks, followed by sophomore Maria Slater (Houston/Elsik), who finished with three kills, one ace, one dig and two blocks.
Sophomore Kelsie Hallum (Hopewell) finished with one kill, 19 assists and 14 digs, while sophomore Heaven Bowman (Houston/Dulles) earned one ace and 24 digs for the evening.
The Lady Lions ended the regular season with a 17-9 overall record and an 8-4 record in the PSUAC conference standings. The Lady Lions are now headed to the postseason and will face off against visitor Penn State Greater Allegheny this Thursday, Oct. 24 for the PSUAC Quarterfinals. Game time is at 7 p.m.
