UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.— The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team earned back-to-back flawless victories Saturday against Penn State Schuylkill in game one and Penn State York in game two during day one of PSUAC Crossover Weekend.
Beaver defeated Schuylkill, 3-0, after handing the opponents a 25-15 loss in all three sets.
At the helm of the offense was senior Amanda Mike (Hopewell), who earned 13 kills and six digs, followed by sophomore Ramiya White (Westland/Wayne Memorial), who contributed 10 kills and two digs. Sophomore Kelsie Hallum (Hopewell) finished with a season-high 40 kills, while sophomore Heaven Bowman (Houston/Dulles) finished with 21 digs.
The Lady Lions then took another 3-0 victory in game two against York after also handing the rival team a 25-15 loss in all three sets.
Mike led the way for Beaver again with 13 kills and 10 digs. Hallum led in assisted with 32. On defense, Bowman finished with 25 digs, while freshman Ashley Rabang (El Dorado Hills /Oak Ridge) also had a notable contribution of 15 digs.
Beaver improves to 9-5 overall record for the regular season and (3-2) in the PSUAC conference standings.
The Lady Lions will be back Sunday, Sept. 29, for day two of the PSUAC Crossover Weekend. Beaver will take on Penn State Hazleton at 2 p.m. and Penn State Brandywine at 4 p.m.
