Beaver Falls Short to DuBois

DuBois, Pa. -- Beaver Lady Lions lose 1-3 against Penn State DuBois.
The Lady Lions traveled to Penn State Du Bois Thursday evening, to play their first of two scheduled games this week.
During their first set, the ladies struggled offensively against DuBois, where they were out-scored 13-25. In the second set, Beaver's offense got hot and the ladies and outscored the ladies of DuBois by 25-14. However, Beaver began to struggle again and lost the third set with a 13 point deficit. Down two sets to one, Beaver tried to hang on and spark a comeback in the fourth set. However, the ladies were out-played by DuBois's offense, losing the set 17-25. Beaver lost the game 1-3. The team is now 3-4 overall.
While Beaver came up short tonight, the team had notable performances from Brooke Tomasko, who led with 6 kills, Stephanie Stadjuhar, and Amanda Mike, who each scored 5 kills, and Emily Keener finished with 14 assists. Alexis Albrecht and Stadjuhar led the defense; Albrecht with 17 digs and 3 aces, and Stadjuhar with 13 digs.
The women's volleyball team are back on the road again this Sunday, September 8, where they will face off against Penn State Mont Alto. The game begins at 2 p.m.
