Monaca, PA - The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions faced Penn State DuBois Sunday afternoon taking them on in back to back games. Beaver dominated DuBois from the beginning to end winning both matches 3-0.

Game 1 was very exciting! The first set Beaver was relentless winning by a score of 25-5. Dubois answered back with a few more points in the second set but it wasn't enough to beat Beaver as they lost 25-10. In the third set Beaver was determined on earning the win, finishing by a score of 25-8 to win the match.

Both sophomore Jenna Petrucci (New Castle, PA/ Shenango) and sophmore  Ryanne "Roxy" Kie (Laguna, NM/ Laguna Acoma) landed 4 kills. Petrucci landing 4 successful out of her 5 attempts and Kie with 4 kills out of her 7 attempts. They both had help from freshman Brenda Martinez (El Centro, CA/ Southwest) who had a total of 14 assists in the game. Adding points from the service line were sophomore Julianna Kon (Hopewell, PA/ Hopewell) with 9 aces, along with freshman Sarah Crooks (Goldsboro, NC/ Wayne County Day School) with 7 aces.

Game 2 had the same result as game 1 with Beaver leaving the score 3-0. Set 1 went to Beaver 25-10. DuBois tried pulling through in set 2 but couldn't make in past 10 points again to leave the score 25-10 giving Beaver another win. Once it came to the final set Beaver took it all allowing Dubois to only score a few points leaving it 25-3 to Beaver.

Once again in game 2, Petrucci had 10 kills out of 14 attempts with no errors made on her part. Sophomore Mackenzie Keller (Conway, PA/ Freedom) brought some kills to the match landing 7 out of her total 12 attempts. Dishing the ball to them was Martinez who had 18 assists in the game. Many points also came from aces, including 6 from senior Miranda Pfeiffer (Freedom, PA/ Freedom), 4 from Kie, and 4 from freshman Hadiya Hall (Victorville, CA/ Eisenhower).

Penn State Beaver returns to PSUAC play Thursday, September 17, at 7:00 p.m. as they travel to take on Penn State New Kensington.
