Penn State Beaver Splits in double header.

Beaver, PA--- Penn State Beaver lost to Penn State Brandywine 3-0.

In the first set Brandywine controlled the first game winning the set 25-11. Beaver came very close in the second set falling short 25-23. Brandywine kept their momentum going by winning the last set 25-7 to defeat Beaver.

Ryanne "Roxy" Kie (Laguna, NM/Laguna Acoma) had 2 kills. Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA/Sto-Rox) had 6 kills, going 5 for 5 in the second set, and an ace. Julianna Kon (Hopewell, PA/Hopewell) had 2 kills with one ace. "This is the best I seen them compete all season, and we are going to keep improving and growing as the season goes on." Coach BJ Bertges said. 

In the second match against Penn State Schuykill, Beaver made a 360 degree turn around, winning all three sets. Beaver led the first set 25-19. But Beaver didnt look back after the first set. Beaver won the next two rounds 25-13.  Kon  had 3 kills. Gamble had 5 kills. Mackenzie Keller (Conway, PA/Freedom) had 2 kills. Beaver had a total of 17 aces in this match. Kie 2 aces, Brittany Davids (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) 2 aces, Miranda Pfeiffer (Freedom, PA/Freedom) led the team with 7 aces, and Gabriella Disla (San Juan, PR, La Piedad) had 6 aces.

Beaver's next game is a double header against Penn State Mont Alto and Penn State York Sunday September 21st starting at 12 p.m.
