Volleyball loses to Penn College
Beaver loses 3-0
Hazelton, PA- Penn State Beaver women's volleyball loses to Penn College.
During the match neither team had the momentum to consistently score, Penn College had more of an edge able to beat Beaver to 25 in the first set. Beaver was still able to put 19 points on the board but unfortunately it wasn't enough to win the set.
In the second set, Beaver played with drive but couldn't find their feet. Their passing was decent as well as their 22 attempts to score. Beaver had only 7 kills in this set. Penn College was again able to score more consistently and get to 25 first, the set score was 25-17.
Beaver played their best in the last set with great passing effort and turning every attempt into a point. Beaver's Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA/Sto-Rox) and Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls) were very valuable to the team's offense, not losing their drive. Miranda Pfeiffer (Freedom, PA/Freedom) led the team's defense, preventing Penn College from winning sooner and allowing Beaver to score points. The match score was 3-0, Penn College.
Beaver's next matches are against Penn State Worthington Scranton and Penn State Wilkes-Barre on October 13, at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
