Beaver wins over PSU York
Beaver wins, 3-0
Monaca, PA- Penn State Beaver women's volleyball wins over Penn State York in their second match of the day.
At the start of this very close match, Beaver and York were neck in neck for the win. The point difference was only three in the first set. Beaver played strong and as a team throughout the match, which proved to be their edge. They were also able to serve exceptionally and their passing game was improved compared to their previous outings.
In the second set, Beaver was able to keep a 10 point lead over York. The match was still relatively close when it came to the way each team played, Beaver and York both had 15 total attempts. The edge for Beaver came from Miranda Pfeiffer (Freedom, PA/Freedom), who had 11 digs.
In the final set, Beaver was able to keep up their momentum and dominate the court again. Beaver's Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA/Sto-Rox), Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls), and Sam Brophy (Pittsburgh, PA/North Catholic) led the team in kills proving to be very valuable assets throughout the match. The final score was 3-0, Beaver.
Beaver's next match up is Sunday, September 28 against Penn State Brandywine at 12 p.m. and then Penn State Schuylkill at 2 p.m.
