Volleyball Passes First Road Test With Flying Colors
Lady Lions Oust Rival Penn State DuBois in Straight Sets

DuBois, PA - The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions Volleyball Team (2-4, 1-0 PSUAC) hit the road for the first time this season and upended PSUAC rival, Penn State DuBois, 3-0.
The first set was a close affair with the Lady Lions pulling it out by a 25-22 margin.
In the second set, Beaver took control as the trio of Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA), Rachel Grubbs (Freeport/Sarver, PA) and Jenn Fannin (Harbor Creek/Erie, PA) led the Lions to a 25-14 set win.
The third and final set, was more of the same, as Beaver dominated throughout and won by a convincing 25-11 final, and a 3-0 sweep.
Fannin led Beaver in kills with 7, while Grubbs added 6 of her own and freshman Ella Epps (Penn Hills/Pittsburgh, PA) had four.
Ward led the team in blocks, once again, with 3. This is the fifth straight match that the freshman starter has the led team in this category.
Sophomore Gina Richman (Union/Edinburgh, PA) added 2 digs, while teammates Grubbs and Epps added 2 and 1 digs, respectively.
Beaver will host PSUAC foe Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday, September 17 at noon.
